Vice President

My role is to oversee the various Chamber councils, staff, budget, and programs that report through the leadership groups.

Treasurer

My role is to supervise the receipt, deposit and disbursement of the funds of the Chamber, and to oversee its financial integrity.

Angel Walker

Secretary

My role is to record the minutes of Chamber meetings, maintain attendance lists of board meetings and to submit minutes to the board.

Mission
To assist with adherence to the Chamber’s bylaws. This committee also provides clarity concerning exact meanings and intended spirit of the bylaws, including but not limited to proposed amendments.

Community & Business Development Committee

To initiate programs and services for the advancement of existing small businesses, including start-ups and serve as the in-house leader concerning the development of Tuskegee – Macon County as a major tourism destination

Goverment & Community Relations Committee

Mission
To ensure that government bodies, whose decisions affect the conduct and profitability of business, serve the business community’s best interests and to inform and educate the Chamber on policy issues that impact small business success. This committee also works to foster a healthy relationship between Tuskegee University and the local business community

To ensure that the Chamber board addresses critical internal business involving potential funding sources including grants. This committee also will assess when an ad hoc committee should convene to execute a specific task. This pertains to the Bylaws, Membership, Nominating and Special Projects ad hoc committees.

Media & Communication Committee

Mission
To maintain positive perceptions of the Chamber through messages and strategies and also to design collateral materials to support Chamber programs. This committee also provides support to events, meetings and other activities by taking pictures, coordinating news coverage and administering social media postings

Special Projects Committee

Mission
To develop and implement events for the Chamber and assist other committees that are responsible for niche activities. The overarching goal is to design and implement effective programs that advance the Chamber mission and when possible, also enhance the quality of life in the Tuskegee – Macon County community

Nominating Ad Hoc Committee

Mission
To manage the process for filling Chamber officers’ and directors’ vacancies. This entails outreach to identify prospective nominees and vetting of credentials to ensure candidates are qualified and willing to serve.

Membership Committee

Mission
To recruit and retain Chamber members. This committee also identifies the needs of Chamber members and recommends services to meet those needs.
